What's Your Style?

Before you start looking at details such as the venue, caterers and music it is worth considering what kind of day you want to create for your wedding. Do you want a traditional English wedding? A bohemian vibe? Modern or whimsical celebration? This decision will be key when looking at venues and deciding on the smaller details of the day.

Find a Venue:

Of course we would love you to choose Glevering for your wedding venue, but we also want you to feel like you have made the right choice! We recommend visiting at least three venues and carefully comparing them. Each venue will offer something different and will require varying levels of style, input and overall feel. It is very important to feel comfortable with the venue as this will set the tone of the whole day. Here at Glevering Estate you will meet Kathryn who will show you round and confirm all the booking details. In the lead up to the wedding, Sandra, who runs the Estate, will also be avilable to answer any questions or to meet suppliers.

Confirm Your Date with the Registrar or Church:

Once you have chosen your venue it is important to confirm your date and the registrar or church. We host wedding blessings on the farm but we are not licensed for ceremonies so its worth spending some time thinking about the marriage ceremony and how you want this to be conducted.

Now you have your date, venue & registrar/church booked you can concentrate on the smaller details!

Hiring Oak Meadow at Glevering is not a “one size fits all”. Each wedding party is unique and each couple is given the freedom to plan their day how they would like it. You book the venue and then you choose which suppliers you would like and how you would like your day to unfold. We can recommend suppliers that we have used before and give you some tips on planning your wedding. We can also help you with suggestions of what has worked here before. We try to guide couples rather than tell them what they must & must not do.

You will need to book the marquee, toilets, generator, caterers, party games, bar and anything else you need. We have a list of recommended suppliers and lots of advice & experience to help you plan the perfect day.

We strongly urge you to make a budget and stick to it. If you are unsure about what its worth spending money on and where you can save expense please do ask - some of the most effective things can also be acquired on a budget.
